Mechanical Drafter​/Designer

Job Summary

Precision Pumping Systems has been a local and family owned manufacturing business since 1972. To continue our growth, PPS is looking to increase our labor force to keep up with production demands from the sales of our increasingly popular Packaged Pumping Systems. We are searching for talented individuals to join our pump design teams! The Mechanical Drafter/Designer is responsible for developing detailed 3D models, fabrication drawings, and assembly documentation for custom pump station systems using Solid Works.

This role works closely with engineering, production, and sales teams to translate project requirements into accurate, manufacturable designs while maintaining company standards, product reliability, and cost efficiency.

• Create and maintain 3D models, assemblies, and detailed fabrication drawings in Solid Works.
• Design custom pump station layouts including piping, structural components, valves, and mechanical equipment.
• Generate bills of materials (BOMs), cut lists, and manufacturing documentation for production.
• Coordinate with electrical engineering, project management, and manufacturing to ensure designs meet project requirements and installation constraints.
• Review designs for manufacturability, cost effectiveness, and compliance with company standards.
• Support design reviews, revisions, and updates throughout the project lifecycle.
• Maintain organized drawing packages and revision control within the company's document management system.

Minimum of 5 years Solid Works experience. PDM and AutoCAD experience required. Strong communication skills and the ability to multi‑task. Able to manage work independently and work under the direction of the lead Mechanical Designer and Product Manager.

Salary: $25.00 - $28.00 per hour.
