Title: Director of Refurbishment & Circular Operations
Location: Remote with travel
Company Profile: A retail organization with a focus on technology innovation and sustainability is looking to add a Director of Refurbishment & Circular Operations to join their team. This person will lead and oversee the refurbishment, quality assurance, and vendor management strategies to maximize sellable yield and operational efficiency.
The Director of Refurbishment & Circular Operations will Be Responsible for the Following:- Develop and lead refurbishment strategies to increase Grade A yield, reduce cycle times, and improve profitability across all product categories
- Oversee refurbishment workflows and process optimization to ensure alignment with operational KPIs and brand quality standards
- Establish, document, and enforce clear SOPs for all refurbishment vendors
- Build and implement a comprehensive vendor auditing strategy, including performance scorecards, SLA compliance tracking, and continuous improvement plans
- Ensure all refurbishment processes align with the company's sustainability goals, B Corp commitments, and circular economy principles
Qualifications:
- 10-15+ years in garment restoration, textile care, or finishing operations (dry cleaning, alteration houses, or refurbishment centers)
- Deep knowledge of fabric science and treatment compatibility (cotton, wool, silk, synthetics, blends)
- Hands-on experience managing or auditing vendor cleaning/repair operations
- Proven ability to standardize refurbishment SOPs, define service quality metrics, and drive yield improvement
- Experience with luxury fashion, sustainability, or circular operations preferred
