AboutThe Role
The Teller/New Accounts Representative will greet customers with a smile, assess and fill their needs in a professional manner. Emphasis on customer service is a top priority for this position. The employee will be assigned to work on the teller line and open new accounts. This position requires the ability to communicate effectively while working quickly and accurately. This role involves extensive in-person contact with customers, vendors, the public, and bank staff to accomplish job requirements.
The person will interact in a professional and courteous manner and conduct themselves in a way that enhances the bank’s overall efficiency and image. This is an in-person position to provide great customer service and collaborate with co-workers.
- Know the features & benefits for all checking, savings, money market accounts, IRAs and CDs. Accurately open all types of accounts for individuals and businesses.
- Explain and set up products associated with deposit accounts, e.g. online banking, mobile banking, etc.
- Offer products to the customers that will best meet their needs.
- Confidently handle customer questions and problems, including conducting necessary research to resolve issues.
- Participate in branch activities, training meetings, and projects.
- Work on the teller line as needed.
- Keep work area tidy and maintain customer privacy.
- Cross-sell other bank products and maintain knowledge of other bank products.
- Regular, on-site attendance during standard business hours is required to perform the duties of this position.
- Regular and predictable attendance to accomplish in-person customer contact.
- Additional duties as assigned.
- Participate in Community Service and Bank-sponsored activities that support the mission and values of CCB.
- Provide superior internal and external customer service with courtesy and respect toward all customers and colleagues.
- Must comply with all company policies, procedures, and applicable laws and regulations, including but not limited to the Bank Secrecy Act, the Patriot Act, and OFAC.
- Complete assigned online training courses and achieve a passing score by the due date.
- Represent the bank professionally, including image, confidentiality, attitude, attendance, punctuality, flexibility, and adaptability to meet bank and customer needs.
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- Preferred previous banking experience and/or e-banking experience or equivalent.
- High attention to detail and excellent organizational skills to perform in a fast-paced environment.
- Ability to prioritize and manage heavy workloads with effective time management.
- Professional demeanor with courtesy, customer service, and tact in a fast-paced, deadline-oriented environment.
- Ability to work quickly and accurately under pressure, meeting multiple deadlines and making decisions based on regulations and policies.
- Ability to work independently and in a team.
- Ability to understand and follow complex written and oral instructions.
- Effective verbal and written communication skills.
- Basic computer skills.
Must be able to routinely perform work indoors in a climate-controlled shared work area with moderate noise.
