Job Description

Opportunity to work within the Firm’s Corporate Development team working side-by-side with the Principals of a leading independent registered investment advisory (“RIA”) firm. Responsible for “inorganic growth” outreach efforts (advisor acquisitions and recruiting) and pipeline management for a fast growing, highly acquisitive firm. You will work side by side with Senior Vice President in New York and closely with Principals focused on the growth of the Firm including the CEO.

Base salary will range from $80k to $100k with opportunity for a discretionary bonus.

Duties and Responsibilities
  • Perform primary research to acquire prospective RIA firms and wirehouse financial advisor teams via online databases and offline sources of information.
  • Assist in due diligence efforts including the ability to analyze financial information, compensation data, real estate leases, vendor contracts, software agreements, custodian relationships, FINRA reports, insurance policies, and other information to evaluate prospects, assess risks, and identify duplication, efficiency, and synergies.
  • Managing outreach to RIA firms and wirehouse financial advisor teams across multiple geographies.
  • High volume of outbound call activity to prospective opportunities.
  • Actively manage the Firm’s lead and active opportunity pipeline via the CRM database. Create management reports that clearly identify RIA & FA new business opportunities. Work with Corporate Development team members to refine pipeline forecasting and enhance prospect tracking for new and existing clients.
  • Develop, coordinate, and implement online and offline marketing collateral and strategies.
  • Partner with third-party vendors and participate in industry conferences to source leads.
  • Daily interaction with Corporate Development team, the Firm’s management team, participation in weekly meetings, and presentation of recommendations and reports to the New Business Commitment Committee.
  • Organize, plan, prioritize tasks, and complete ad-hoc financial analyses to strategy and business development matters of the Firm.

Professional Qualifications
  • Ideally 1 to 3 years of professional experience
  • Proficient in Word, Excel, PowerPoint, or other tools to prepare models, reports, and term sheets.
  • RIA, wealth and asset management industry knowledge, merger and acquisition experience, and investment banking analyst training are beneficial.
  • Experience in an outbound business development or sales role (emailing, cold calling, networking).
  • Experience with CRM software (desirable) or the ability to learn it.
