DescriptionSupports physicians and coordinators through the Peer Review process by managing communication, meetings, documentation, and case close‑outs. Prepares charts, tracks OPPE/FPPE, analyzes cases for outside review, and maintains required OPPE/FPPE records. Collaborates with Peer Review, Risk Management, Medical Staff Office, and Performance Improvement to coordinate reviews and schedule ongoing meetings.
Skills, Knowledge, Education And Experience- High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
- Two years’ experience working with physicians and other clinical staff; preferred.
- Basic knowledge of medical terminology, preferred.
- Intermediate computer skills with an emphasis on MS Word, Access, and Excel. Able to utilize the technology of the Internet.
- Experience with visual display of data and control charts.
- Excellent interpersonal skills.
- Keen attention to detail and ability to complete activities on time.
- Meets Health System's Guiding Behaviors and Caring Standards including interpersonal communication and professional conduct expectations.
- Receives and screens visitors and telephone calls.
- Uses independent judgment to determine priority and sensitivity of inquiries and responses.
- Prepares and/or supervises the preparation of correspondence, forms, reports and other written communications as required.
- Provides team members with all required documentations for medical department meetings (e.g. locations of required charts, current status reports, history of reviews).
- Maintains assigned calendar(s).
- Prepare meeting agendas and take meeting minutes.
- Originates, prepares, processes and edits reports and documents.
- Demonstrates compliance with hospital safety policies and procedures.
- Assists with special projects and interdepartmental needs when appropriate.
