Manual Machinist
- Job Shop Details:

• Temp-to-Hire position
• $ 21.00 / hour
• Full Time work available
• First Shift (Monday through Friday from 08:00am to 05:00pm)

The Manual Machinist is responsible for setting up and operating conventional machine tools, including manual lathes, mills, drill presses, grinders, and related equipment, to manufacture, repair, and modify precision parts. This position requires the ability to read blueprints, determine machining methods, perform quality inspections, and produce parts that meet customer specifications in a fast-paced job shop environment where work varies from project to project.

Qualifications:

• Set up and operate manual lathes, vertical and horizontal mills, drill presses, grinders, saws, and other shop equipment.
• Read and interpret blueprints, engineering drawings, sketches, and work orders.
• Determine machining operations, tooling requirements, and work-holding methods.
• Calculate dimensions and tolerances using measuring instruments and shop math.
• Machine components to specified tolerances and surface finish requirements.
• Perform prototype, repair, and short-run production work.
• Troubleshoot machining problems and recommend process improvements.
• Maintain equipment and perform routine machine maintenance.
