Crusher Foreperson

Idaho Materials & Construction, a CRH Company, is seeking a Crusher Foreperson in Pocatello, Idaho. This position oversees daily crushing and aggregate production operations and is responsible for leading crushing crews, coordinating production activities, maintaining equipment performance, ensuring product quality, and promoting a culture of safety and operational excellence.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Supervise and direct daily crushing and wash plant operations.
  • Lead and mentor crusher operators and support personnel.
  • Monitor production rates and adjust operations to meet production targets.
  • Ensure aggregate products meet established quality specifications.
  • Coordinate scheduled and unscheduled maintenance activities with maintenance teams.
  • Conduct daily inspections of crushers, screens, conveyors, feeders, and related equipment.
  • Ensure compliance with all MSHA, OSHA, environmental, and company safety requirements.
  • Promote safe work practices through training, coaching, and corrective action when needed.
  • Maintain accurate records for production, maintenance, labor hours, equipment utilization, and materials.
  • Assist in planning crusher moves, plant setup, and relocation activities.
  • Manage inventory levels for wear parts, crusher components, fuel, lubricants, and operating supplies.
  • Troubleshoot operational issues and implement solutions to maximize plant efficiency.
  • Participate in safety meetings, job hazard analyses, and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Coordinate with quarry operations, trucking, and construction teams to ensure material availability and customer satisfaction.

Supervisory Responsibilities:

  • Directly supervise crushing plant personnel and support staff.
  • Schedule work assignments and coordinate crew activities.
  • Provide employee training, coaching, performance feedback, and development.
  • Foster teamwork and accountability while maintaining productivity expectations.

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or GED preferred.
  • Minimum of 2 (two) years of quarrying, crushing, aggregate production and/or related heavy equipment experience.
  • Minimum 1 (one) or more years of previous lead supervisory, foreman or crew leadership experience required.
  • Strong knowledge of crushing and screening operations, aggregate quality control, and equipment maintenance.
  • Strong safety record and working knowledge of MSHA safety regulations and safe operating practices.
  • Valid driver's license required.

Physical Requirements:

  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit, talk, or hear.
  • The employee is frequently required to sit, climb, and use hands to finger, handle, or feel.
  • The employee is frequently required to stand, walk, crawl, kneel, bend, and reach with hands and arms above their shoulders.
  • The employee must occasionally lift and/or move from 10 to 50 lbs.
  • Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision and depth perception.

Work Environment:

  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally exposed to wet and/or humid conditions; moving mechanical parts; outside weather conditions; and extreme cold and/or heat.
  • The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate to loud.
