Role DescriptionThe Fitter/Welders role is a full-time, on-site position based in Pocatello, this role, the team member will fit, assemble, and weld steel components for Buckling Restrained Braces according to drawings, specifications, and quality requirements. Day-to-day tasks include interpreting blueprints, preparing materials, performing precise welds, verifying measurements, and inspecting completed work for accuracy and structural integrity. The role involves operating welding and cutting equipment, maintaining a clean and safe work area, following established safety procedures, and collaborating with supervisors and coworkers to meet production deadlines.
The Fitter/Welders will also assist with basic equipment maintenance and contribute to continuous improvement efforts in fabrication processes.
- Proficiency in welding processes (such as MIG, TIG, or flux-cored) and safe operation of related tools and equipment.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, fabrication drawings, and welding symbols with strong attention to detail.
- Skilled in fitting, measuring, and layout of steel components using appropriate hand and power tools.
- Knowledge of fabrication shop safety practices and commitment to maintaining a safe working environment.
- Previous experience as a fitter, welder, or in structural steel fabrication is strongly preferred.
- Physical ability to stand for extended periods, lift moderate weights, and work in an industrial environment.
- Strong teamwork, communication, and time-management skills, with reliability in meeting production goals.
- Relevant welding certifications or training and a high school diploma or equivalent are beneficial.
