Travel RN - Med​/Surg

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Medical-Surgical position requiring at least 2 years of experience and BLS certification, with a 3x12 day shift schedule.

Job Details

• Medical-Surgical unit in a hospital setting,

• Patient population includes a wide range of diagnoses such as sepsis, CIWA, AMS/confusion, COPD, post-op care, AKI, trauma, respiratory failure, bowel obstruction, pyelonephritis, cardiac conditions, diabetes, GI conditions, isolation, and SI with medical indications,

• Patient ratio of 1:6,

• Shift: Days, 3x12 hours (7:00-19:00),

• Epic EMR used; experience preferred,

• Weekend and holiday coverage required,

Job Requirements

• Active Idaho () or Compact RN license required,

• Current BLS certification required,

• Minimum 2 years of RN experience required,

• Epic EMR experience preferred,

• Proficiency with computer applications including Word, Excel, Outlook, and electronic medical records software,

• Ability to work varied shifts, weekends, and holidays,

• Strong organizational, critical thinking, interpersonal, and communication skills,

• Applies the nursing process across patient age groups including infants, pediatrics, adolescents, adults, and geriatrics,

• Thorough documentation required in accordance with regulatory and hospital standards,

• Must be adaptable to a fast-paced, high-acuity environment with evolving patient safety requirements,

• Former permanent staff must have been separated for at least 1 year before being eligible to return as a traveler,

• No more than 3 days of RTO will be auto-approved; no RTO during the first week of orientation,

• Travel pairs or groups are not accepted for this position,

• Candidates must reside more than 50 miles from the facility to be eligible
