- Shift: 4x12 Nights
- Local rule: 50-mile radius - no local candidates; unit accepts first-time travel nurses
- Provide nursing care for adults recovering from orthopedic surgery or injury, including neurovascular checks, wound care, pain management, drain and PCA care, and patient education
- Administer medications and manage IV therapy, including starting/maintaining IVs, peripheral line care, and blood product administration as ordered
- Monitor cardiac status and provide non-invasive airway support; respond to rapid responses and codes as needed
- Document thoroughly in the electronic medical record (Epic preferred) and participate in interdisciplinary care coordination with PT, OT, radiology, pharmacy, social services, and transport
- Support orthopedic-specific care such as ortho trauma, total joint care, and isolation precautions; assist with discharge planning and patient education for home care
- Active RN license in Idaho or a compact state, in hand at time of submittal
- BLS, NIHSS, and ACLS certifications as listed
- Minimum 1 year RN experience in orthopedics; prior charge nurse experience preferred
- Orthopedic-specific clinical skills (ortho trauma, total joint care, drains, nerve block catheters, PCA) and ability to manage post-operative care
- Onboarding requirements: core items and labs completed within 48 hours of contract signing; onsite orientation with RN modules
- Onboarding and onsite orientation to complete core items within 48 hours of signing
- Dedicated recruiter and travel support throughout the assignment
- Interdisciplinary support: IV team, PT, RT, phlebotomy, radiology, pharmacy, social services, transport, and rapid response
- Epic (or similar EMR) documentation support and care coordination resources
