American Traveler is hiring a Med/Surg RN with prior travel experience and a State or Compact RN license for a night shift position with a 1:6 patient ratio.

• Medical Surgical unit within a hospital setting
• Night shift schedule (3x12 hours, 7:00 PM-7:00 AM)
• 36 or 48 hour weekly options available
• Patient ratio of 1:6
• Every other weekend required
• Floating required
• Diverse patient population including sepsis, COPD, AKI, trauma, respiratory failure, cardiac conditions, GI conditions, and isolation cases

• Active State or Compact RN license required in hand at time of consideration
• BLS certification required
• Minimum 2 years of recent charge nurse experience required
• Prior travel nursing experience required
• Epic charting experience required
• Experience with 1:6 patient ratios required
• Teaching hospital experience preferred
• Trauma Level II experience preferred
• Skills in IV therapy, central line care, PICC line management, and blood product administration
• Respiratory care skills including BiPAP/CPAP management, chest tube care, and tracheostomy management
• Experience with wound care, isolation precautions/PPE, and medication administration including heparin, insulin, and PCA

• Provide direct patient care across a wide range of medical-surgical diagnoses
• Participate in rapid response and code team activations as needed
• Must reside outside a 50-mile radius of the facility to be considered
• Former staff must wait one year before returning as a traveler
• No more than 3 days of RTO will be auto-approved, and no RTO is permitted during the first week of orientation
• Travel pairs or groups are not accepted for this position
