Copperweld is seeking a motivated Director of Builder Relations to support the growth of our residential building wire business. This role will serve as a key member of the Building Wire Residential Sales team, acting as both a relationship-focused sales leader and an educational resource for national home builders, electrical contractors, and inspectors. Responsibilities include driving adoption of Copperweld solutions, supporting product implementation in local markets, and executing sales initiatives to exceed sales and profit goals.
The ideal candidate brings strong construction industry relationships, excellent communication skills, and the ability to build trust at all levels. Regular travel is required. This position reports to the President of Building Wire and works cross-functionally to execute Copperweld’s sales strategy.
- Leverage deep experience in the building wire industry, including strong knowledge of products, applications, customers, pricing structures, and market dynamics.
- Execute and exceed product sales, revenue, and profitability goals within an assigned territory.
- Develop and implement strategic go-to-market plans, including SWOT analysis, target accounts, and distribution strategies.
- Utilize established industry relationships while building new connections to educate builders, electrical contractors, distributors, inspectors (AHJs), and other stakeholders on Copperweld products and solutions.
- Identify, pursue, and execute conversion opportunities within Residential Electrical Contractor (REC) accounts to drive product adoption and sales growth.

- Drive brand awareness and product adoption through trade shows, lunch-and-learns, educational forums, marketing events, and industry involvement.
- Identify and foster strategic distributor relationships, supporting sales, stocking programs, and market expansion initiatives.
- Develop andmaintaina matrix of inspector communities (AHJs),identify areas of restriction, and collaborate on action plans to achieve favorable outcomes.
- Stay current on applicable codes, regulations, industry trends, and market conditions.
- Serve as a Copperweld brand ambassador within trade organizations and industry communities.
- Collaborate cross-functionally to share best practices, support product development, andassistwith marketing and technical materials.
- Utilize CRM systems and business tools to support forecasting, pipeline management, and customer engagement.
- Communicate proactively and transparently when resolving issues and providing updates to customers and carriers.
- Manage multiple priorities effectively in a fast-paced environment with strong organization and follow-through.
- Travel asrequiredto support customer relationships, market development, and business objectives.
- Prepare and present updates to executive leadership on progress, initiatives, and results.
- Complete other duties as assigned.
WHAT you need to possess.
- High School Diploma or GED required; bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing or related field is preferred.
- 8+ years of sales experience in the electrical industry, with 3+ years working with home builders strongly preferred.
- Experience working directly with electrical contractors, or in an electrical contractor capacity, preferred.
- Proven sales, training, or customer success experience, with confidence selling products you believe in.
- Strong presentation, communication, and negotiation skills across customers, contractors, builders, inspectors, and internal leadership.
- Analytical and creative problem-solver with a self-motivated, adaptable mindset.
- Ability to plan, organize, and collaborate cross-functionally.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office, Smartsheet, and CRM systems; ERP experience preferred.
- Flexible schedule with willingness and ability to travel as required up to 50%.
