Opportunity

We’re looking for a motivated and mechanically inclined Fire Suppression Installer & Fire Extinguisher/Suppression Service Technician to join our team in Pocatello,  role covers a variety of servicing and installation tasks, from hand portable fire extinguishers to commercial kitchen suppression systems, automotive paint booths, and vehicle suppression systems (mining). This isn’t a position for someone who just wants to “punch the clock.”

What You’ll Do
  • Inspect, service, and recharge all types of portable fire extinguishers
  • Test, maintain, and repair suppression systems for:
    • Commercial kitchens
    • Automotive paint booths
    • Vehicle suppression systems
  • Complete inspections to NFPA standards
  • Maintain accurate records, reports, and customer documentation
  • Provide dependable service that reflects State Fire Idaho’s commitment to safety and quality

Requirements What You Bring
  • Integrity above all, with solid work ethic and personal accountability
  • Ability to work independently, manage time, and solve problems in the field
  • Clear communication skills (written and verbal)
  • Comfortable using mobile reporting tools
  • Valid driver’s license and clean driving record
  • Ability to pass a background check and drug screening
  • Willingness to travel overnight occasionally (travel and hotel expenses covered by the company) and work overtime as needed
Physical Requirements
  • Able to sit, stand, kneel, crouch, and climb ladders for extended periods
  • Comfortable working indoors and outdoors in all conditions
  • Able to safely lift and carry up to 70 pounds
