Truck Driver

Position Overview

This is a skilled position involving the safe and efficient operation of transfer trucks and/or dump trucks (with and without pups and tarping systems). Drivers will deliver aggregates, including asphalt, to residential and commercial locations. The role requires customer‑centric service and knowledge of CRH safety policies. Primary focus is customer delivery and internal needs such as asphalt paving.

• Operational knowledge of end dumps and/or belly dumps with or without pups and related equipment.
• Operate equipment safely and efficiently.
• Maintain time and material records.
• Follow verbal and written instructions.
• Understand different types and sizes of aggregates.
• Maneuver and back with pup trailer.
• Communicate effectively on the radio system.
• Connect and disconnect pup trailer.

Education/Experience

• High school diploma or GED required; one to two years related experience and/or training or equivalent combination.

Certificates, License, Registrations

• Valid state commercial driver’s license (CDL) Class A with double/triple and air‑brake endorsements.
• Valid medical card per DOT standard.

Work Requirements

• One to two years related experience or equivalent.
• Incident‑free driving record preferred.
• Subject to drug, alcohol, and physical agilities testing.

The role requires frequent sitting, climbing, operating equipment, and handling equipment. Occasionally the employee must stand, walk, crawl, kneel, bend, and reach with hands and arms above shoulders, and lift or move up to 50 lbs. Specific vision abilities include close, distance, color, peripheral, and depth perception. Work may involve exposure to wet, humid, or extreme temperature conditions, and moderate noise.
