Geologist - Resource Estimation

Our client is seeking a meticulous Geologist specializing in Resource Estimation to join their team in Polokwane . This role is integral to accurately quantifying the mineral content and value of the company's deposits, forming the basis for strategic mine planning and investment decisions. You will apply advanced geological modeling techniques and statistical methods to produce robust resource models. • Compile, validate, and manage geological datasets, including drillhole logs, assay data, and survey information.
• Develop and interpret geological models, defining domain boundaries and structural controls on mineralization.
• Perform geostatistical analysis and resource estimation using industry-standard software.
• Conduct sensitivity analyses and evaluate geological risk associated with resource estimates.
• Prepare detailed technical reports documenting methodologies, assumptions, and results for resource reporting (e.g., JORC, NI 43-101 standards).
• Collaborate with mine planning and production teams to reconcile estimates with actual mining results.

• Master's degree in Geology or Economic Geology.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in resource geology and estimation, preferably in South Africa.
• Proficiency with resource estimation software (e.g., Datamine, Micromine, Leapfrog Geo).
• Strong understanding of geostatistical principles and their application in resource modeling.
• Experience with exploration geology and geological mapping is beneficial.
