Geologist - Mineral Exploration; Energy Minerals

Our client, a dynamic mining and energy exploration company, is seeking a skilled Geologist to join their team in Polokwane , focusing on the exploration of energy minerals. This role is vital for identifying and evaluating new mineral deposits, including those relevant to battery technology and future energy solutions. You will be involved in geological mapping, data interpretation, and field exploration programs.

The ideal candidate will possess strong geological expertise, experience with exploration techniques, and a keen understanding of the potential for energy-related mineral resources in the Limpopo region, contributing to the company's strategic growth.

• Plan and execute geological field mapping and sampling programs for mineral exploration targets.
• Interpret geological, geophysical, and geochemical data to identify prospective areas for energy minerals.
• Develop and manage drilling programs, including core logging and sample selection for assaying.
• Conduct geological data analysis and contribute to resource modeling efforts.
• Prepare technical reports, geological maps, and cross-sections documenting exploration findings.
• Collaborate with geophysicists, geochemists, and engineers to refine exploration strategies.

• Bachelor's degree in Geology or Earth Sciences;
  Master's degree preferred.
• Minimum of 6 years of experience in mineral exploration , with a focus on energy-related commodities (e.g., lithium, cobalt, rare earths).
• Proven experience in geological mapping, data interpretation, and drilling supervision.
• Familiarity with exploration software and GIS tools.
• Strong understanding of mineral deposit models and exploration methodologies.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team.
