Senior Mine Geologist

Our client is seeking an accomplished Senior Mine Geologist to join their team based in Polokwane, Limpopo. This role is integral to understanding and quantifying the mineral resources they exploit, ensuring accurate geological models underpin all mining and planning activities. You will be responsible for detailed geological mapping, core logging, data analysis, and resource estimation, working closely with mine planning and production teams.

• Conduct detailed geological mapping and structural analysis of the mine area.
• Log diamond drill core and reverse circulation chips, identifying lithologies, mineralization, and alteration.
• Develop and maintain 3D geological models using industry-standard software (e.g., Leapfrog, Micromine).
• Perform resource and reserve estimations according to industry best practices and reporting codes.
• Collaborate with mine planning engineers to optimize mine designs based on geological understanding.
• Provide geological support to production teams, assisting with grade control and mine geology interpretation.

• Master's degree in Geology or Economic Geology.
• Minimum of 7 years of relevant experience in mine geology, with a strong background in resource estimation.
• Proficiency in geological modeling and resource estimation software.
• Experience with grade control processes and geological data management.
• Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, enabling effective collaboration in a hybrid setting in Polokwane.
