Senior Geoscientist

Our client is seeking an accomplished Senior Geoscientist to join their exploration and development team in Polokwane. This role is central to identifying and evaluating new hydrocarbon prospects and supporting the development of existing fields within the Oil & Gas industry. You will integrate geological and geophysical data to build comprehensive subsurface models, assess resource potential, and provide critical input for drilling and development decisions.

This position demands a blend of technical expertise, analytical rigor, and collaborative engagement with multidisciplinary teams.

• Interpret seismic data, well logs, and core samples to build detailed geological models.
• Perform prospectivity assessments and resource estimations for exploration and development targets.
• Collaborate with reservoir engineers and drilling engineers to define optimal well locations and trajectories.
• Utilize advanced geological software and techniques for data integration and interpretation.
• Contribute to geological consensus building and present findings to technical and management committees.

• Master's degree or PhD in Geology, Geophysics, or a related geoscience discipline.
• A minimum of 8 years of experience in exploration or development geoscience within the Oil & Gas sector.
• Proficiency in seismic interpretation, well log analysis, and sequence stratigraphy.
• Experience with geological modeling software (e.g., Petrel, Kingdom Suite).
• Strong analytical, communication, and teamwork skills, vital for operating in Polokwane.
