Telecommunications Installation Technician

Our client is looking for a meticulous Telecommunications Installation Technician to join their field operations team based in Polokwane . This role is crucial for the deployment and maintenance of telecommunications infrastructure, including fiber optic cables, network equipment, and related systems for residential and business clients. You will be responsible for physically installing, testing, and troubleshooting these systems, ensuring high-quality service delivery and client satisfaction.

As part of the Installation & Maintenance division, you will be instrumental in connecting communities and businesses to essential communication networks in Limpopo .

• Install and terminate fiber optic cables, coaxial cables, and other telecommunication wiring in various environments.
• Set up, configure, and test telecommunications equipment, including routers, modems, and access points.
• Perform diagnostic tests to identify and resolve signal issues, connectivity problems, and equipment malfunctions.
• Read and interpret site plans, technical drawings, and installation manuals.
• Ensure all installations are neat, secure, and compliant with company standards and safety regulations.
• Provide basic customer support and training on using installed telecommunication systems.

• Previous experience in telecommunications installation, low-voltage cabling, or a related field.
• Familiarity with fiber optic splicing, termination, and testing procedures is highly advantageous.
• Knowledge of networking concepts, including IP addressing, Wi-Fi standards, and basic network troubleshooting.
• Ability to work at heights and in various weather conditions.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to delivering high-quality workmanship.
• Valid driver's license and a good driving record for travel to client sites in and around Polokwane .
