Telecom Field Service Technician

Our client is seeking a dedicated and skilled Telecom Field Service Technician to join their team serving the Polokwane area and surrounding regions. This role involves the installation, maintenance, and repair of telecommunications equipment and infrastructure at customer premises and remote sites. You will be the face of our client in the field, ensuring customer satisfaction through efficient and effective service delivery.

This is a hands‑on position requiring strong technical aptitude, problem‑solving skills, and the ability to work independently. You'll be instrumental in delivering reliable connectivity services across Limpopo .

• Install, configure, and test telecommunications equipment, including modems, routers, antennas, and base stations.
• Perform routine maintenance and diagnostic checks on network infrastructure and customer equipment.
• Troubleshoot and repair technical issues related to voice, data, and internet services.
• Ensure all installations and repairs are completed according to company standards and safety protocols.
• Respond to service calls and manage a daily schedule effectively.
• Provide excellent customer service, educating clients on service usage and basic troubleshooting.
• Maintain accurate service records and reports using mobile field service applications.

• High school diploma or equivalent; technical qualification in electronics or telecommunications is a plus.
• Minimum of 2 years of experience as a Field Service Technician in the telecom industry.
• Proficiency in working with various types of telecommunications equipment and tools.
• Strong understanding of network connectivity, including TCP/IP, Wi‑Fi, and basic troubleshooting.
• Ability to work independently, manage time effectively, and solve problems on site.
• Good physical condition, able to climb ladders and work in confined spaces if necessary.
• A valid driver's license and a good driving record are essential.
