SHORELINE PROTECTION ADMINISTRATOR
Division of Environmental Protection, Natural Resources Department, Polson, MT
The Shoreline Protection Administrator is a full functioning level position consisting of supervisory, administrative, and management duties involving the regulation of activities and structures in Reservation waters.
Responsibilities include:
- Managing regulations of activities and structures in Reservation waters
- Supervising staff and coordinating program administration
- Performing accounting and office practices management
- Utilizing maps, plats, and aerial photography to assess shoreline projects
- Providing public speaking and written communication on program matters
- Personnel management of administrative staff
- Ensuring compliance with Tribal and state regulations
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in public or business administration, business management, or a natural resource field, and five years of progressively responsible work in resource management with demonstratable relations aspects; OR
- In the absence of a degree, at least eight years of progressively responsible experience in Tribal Government and Natural Resources Management
- Thorough knowledge of land descriptions, location techniques, program administration, accounting, office practices, procedures, computers and common software programs, including Microsoft Office Suite
- High degree of skill using maps, plats, aerial photography, public speaking, written communication, and personnel management
- Valid Montana driver’s license
- Ability to wear Tribal Government identification and safety apparel during field activities
- Successful completion of a certified online Defensive Driving course within six months of hire and every three years thereafter

Applicants must submit a Tribal Employment Application, copies of relevant academic transcripts and/or certificates, a copy of a valid Montana driver’s license, proof of enrollment from a federally recognized Tribe (if other than CSKT), and a DD‑214 for veterans preference.
Additional information:
This position is not a (TDP) within the definition of the CSKT Drug Testing policy. The successful applicant, if not already employed by CSKT, must pass a pre‑hire drug test and serve a mandatory six‑month probationary period.
Salary range is $31.25 to $35.92 per hour, including benefits:
Health Insurance, Life Insurance, Retirement, Long‑term Disability, and PTO & Paid Holidays.
