Summary

A perioperative RN provides care across surgical services, including pre‑operative, intra‑operative, post‑anesthesia care (PACU), and endoscopy. The role may include floating within surgical services and assisting other areas as needed, with responsibility for following patients through from pre‑op to discharge when required. Candidates are required to bring their license on the first day.

Schedule & Responsibilities

Schedule:

Days; 8 shifts per month; 40.0 minimum hours per week.

  • Responsibilities:
    Supports surgical service workflow across pre‑operative, OR, endoscopy, and PACU (including PACU Phase I and II); circulates for C‑sections; follows the patient through pre‑op to discharge when required; demonstrates flexibility to work in any area within surgical services.
  • Float:
    Rotary within surgical services and may assist other departments, within scope.
  • On‑Call:
    Variable call on weekends and nights, with an expectation of weekends every 3rd or 4th weekend depending on rotation and time off requests.
Qualifications
  • Valid Montana (MT) or compact RN license at time of submission.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS).
  • Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS).
  • National Institute of Health Stroke Scale (NIHSS).
  • Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) (as applicable per posting).
  • Experience requirement not specified beyond the stated qualifications.

Critical Access Hospital setting; expected patient care includes PACU, endoscopy, pre‑operative, and OR; charting uses Epic; PACU and OR activities may include adult and pediatric populations; weekends and holidays may be covered on call; accepted specialties include OBGYN, orthopedics, GI/GS, ENT, pain, and dental.
