Overview
The Registered Nurse (RN) provides professional, comprehensive nursing care for patients in an acute care environment. The RN is accountable for the delivery of coordinated, safe, compassionate, therapeutic, and evidence-based quality care to patients and their families, considering each individual's physical, emotional, and spiritual needs. Appropriate care strategies are utilized throughout the lifespan. The RN practices in accordance with the Nurse Practice Act in the state of employment, the American Nurses Association (ANA) Code of Ethics for Nurses, and the ANA Scope and Standards of Practice.
Key functions and specific job skills are outlined in the unit-specific onboarding checklist and in standards applicable to the specialty.

- Graduation from an accredited nursing program
- Upon hire:
National Provider BLS certification from the American Heart Association - Upon hire:
Montana Registered Nurse License - Provider ACLS certification from the American Heart Association within 90 days of hire
- Provider PALS certification from the American Heart Association within 90 days of hire
- At least 1 year of nursing experience
- Upon hire:
National Certification in area of specialty, unless otherwise indicated
