Lake County Job Opening Lake County Solid Waste is accepting applications for:
Driver / Operator
- Part-timeQUALIFICATIONS
Must possess a valid Class B CDL, with an acceptable driving record and a minimum of 1 year of CDL driving experience in winter conditions. Class A CDL is preferred. If you have a valid Class B CDL, you will be required to obtain a Class A by the end of your probationary period. Must possess the ability to operate large trucks and heavy equipment safely and skillfully;
be able to conduct minor repair and maintenance of trucks and equipment, work outdoors in extreme weather and temperatures, and work well with the public and coworkers; and must be knowledgeable of all federal, state, and local laws pertaining to the operation of commercial motor vehicles. Must be able to lift 80lbs. Roll-off and pup trailer experience is preferred.
- Drive transfer truck to container sites
- Set empty containers
- Consolidate loaded containers
- Retrieve loaded containers
- Deliver and unload containers
- Clean area around container site, as well as truck and trailer
- Perform minor maintenance on equipment
- Operate heavy equipment
- Move and compact waste
- Perform landfill duties, including working at the ticket shack
- Perform other duties as assigned
Thursday
- Saturday, 8:00AM - 4:30PM
$27.93/hourly.
This is a union covered position.
