Position Summary

The seasonal Administrative Assistant performs general office responsibilities including data entry, creating departmental forms, filing, photocopying, answering telephones, updating notebooks, performs critical functions and carrying out sensitive assignments that require professional training, experience, knowledge, analytical skills and sound judgment.

This is a seasonal role from March 1, 2026 and will end on June 29, 2026.

This role pays an hourly rate of $21.00-$24.00

This position will remain open until May 22, 2026.

About the Venue

The LA County Fair is a large annual event held at Fairplex in Pomona, featuring food vendors, entertainment, and attractions. It is a fast-paced, high-volume environment that requires strong organization and teamwork to ensure a safe and enjoyable experience for guests.

Responsibilities
  • Assists with subcontractor fair contract, menus, credentials, and work orders.
  • Receipts subcontractors rent deposits per fair, rent payments during the fair.
  • Assists with subcontractor’s daily deposits and invoices.
  • Assists with menu and pricing varication.
  • Maintains updated subcontracts files which include signed contract, valid insurance, worker’s compensation insurance, seller’s permit, W-9, health permit and Serv Safe certificates.
  • During set-up, assist Food & Beverage Subcontractors with move-in and move-out.
  • Introduces self and knows Food & Beverage Subcontractors and geography of the Fair grounds.
  • Patrols Fairgrounds on a regular basis and maintains a high level of visibility amongst guest and Food & Beverage Subcontractors, seeks out, reports and/or corrects any safety hazards.
  • Watches for Food & Beverage Subcontractors who may violate the “Rules and Regulations” of the Fair and seeks compliance.
  • Reports any maintenance issues to Fairplex Facilities Department.
  • At all times remains in radio contact, it is available to report to problem areas as needed, is prepared to solve any problems, and is available to the OVG Office as needed.
  • Submits written notes nightly.
  • Performs other duties as required.
Qualifications
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Basic computer skills (Microsoft Word, Excel, email).
  • Strong organization and attention to detail.
  • Good communication and customer service skills.
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
  • Basic data entry and record-keeping experience.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality with sensitive information.
  • Dependable, punctual, and able to work flexible/seasonal hours.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
