Technology and Operations Management Department invites applications for one tenure track faculty positions. The new faculty members will teach in-person undergraduate and graduate classes primarily in Supply Chain/Operations Management and E-Business related subjects, especially introduction to artificial intelligence technologies in business and supply chain network design. Integration of modern supply chain technologies such as data management and business analytics subjects into the curriculum is a high priority strategic goal of the department and the candidates are expected to provide significant support and contribution toward this goal.
The successful candidates must have a strong interest in research and scholarly activities and are expected to provide university/college/department services. Applicants whose work incorporates a global perspective and a commitment to diversity in higher education are particularly encouraged to apply.
Minimum requirements include:
* A Ph.D./DBA with concentration in Business Analytics and Operations
* At least one year of full-time university teaching experience at an AACSB-accredited university
* Demonstrated research excellence in journal publications.
* Demonstrated record for excellence in teaching.
* A commitment and a record of contributions to student success through applicant's teaching, scholarship, or service.
Preferred/Desired
Qualifications:
* B.A. or MS degree in Economics education background.
* Academic/Industry background in Business Analytics and/or Data Management and/or Information Systems.
Conditions of Employment:
Background Check: A background check (including a criminal records check) must be satisfactorily completed. Offers of employment are conditional and may be rescinded if the background check reveals disqualifying information, and/or it is discovered that the candidate knowingly withheld or falsified information. Failure to satisfactorily complete the background check may affect the continued employment of a current CSU employee who was conditionally offered the position.
Out of State Employment:
In accordance with the California State University (CSU) Out-of-State Employment Policy, the CSU is a state entity whose business operations reside within the State of California and prohibits hiring employees to perform CSU related work outside of California. It is also expected that tenure-line faculty establish an on-campus presence to fulfill their responsibilities.
Mandated Reporter:
The person holding this position is considered a "mandated reporter" under the California Child Abuse and Neglect Reporting Act and is required to comply with the requirements set forth in CSU Executive Order 1083 as a condition of employment.
Application Process:
The first three items (cover letter, Teaching Philosophy Statement, and CV) are required of all searches. You may also require other items, such as the examples below. Limiting how much you require may allow you to recruit a broader pool and reduce the time needed to review each file.
A completed application will consist of:
* Cover letter in which you describe your interest in the position, relevant experience, and how you meet the minimum and preferred qualifications;
* Curriculum vitae;
* Teaching Philosophy statement (2-page max) that addresses Cal Poly Pomona's commitment to excellence in education (see above).
* Research Statement (2-page max);
* Reprints of up to 3 publications;
* Link to a portfolio website providing 20 samples of the candidate's own professional work;
* At least three letters of reference, at least one of which must specifically address teaching;
* The names and contact information for at least three individuals that can serve as references;
* Unofficial transcripts (undergraduate and graduate, official transcripts will be required of finalists);
Finalists for the position will:
* be required to provide official transcripts for highest degree before the on-campus interview;
* be required to provide three letters of reference dated within the last two years;
* Final candidates being interviewed are expected to make a presentation of creative work and a teaching demonstration to faculty and interact with students.
Salary range for an Academic Year Appointment: $135,000 - $139,140.
International Candidates:
Cal Poly Pomona is currently not sponsoring applicants for H-1B employment that are subject to the $100,000 fee established by the "Presidential Proclamation:
Restriction on Entry of Certain Nonimmigrant Workers" issued on September 19, 2025. Applicants are responsible for determining the applicability of the fee.
