Position Title

Director of Clinical Curriculum (PCN A04045)

Position Summary

Responsible for the oversight, development, implementation, and evaluation of the third‑ and fourth‑year clinical curriculum for DO students at the Pomona campus. Provides leadership in curricular quality, accreditation compliance, and student academic success, including preparation for licensure examinations.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide oversight, coordination, and strategic direction for the third‑ and fourth‑year clinical curriculum, including the ISSM 6 course.
  • Support Pomona‑based educational programming, including conference weeks, and serve as partner educator for designated ISSM 5 sessions.
  • Develop, implement, and monitor board preparation strategies for COMLEX‑USA Level 2 and USMLE Step 2 examinations.
  • Establish processes to identify and support learners in academic difficulty, including monitoring progress and implementing interventions.
  • Collaborate with COMP‑Northwest counterpart on curriculum development and alignment of learning outcomes between campuses.
  • Collaborate with the Clinical Education Team to prepare and submit accreditation‑related documentation and reports (COCA).
  • Contribute to curriculum evaluation, continuous quality improvement initiatives, and alignment with institutional and accreditation standards.
  • Participate in institutional committees, faculty governance, and college or community activities aligned with role responsibilities.
  • Engage in scholarly activities related to medical education and/or clinical practice.
  • Attend professional conferences and contribute to educational research, presentations, or publications to maintain and enhance teaching effectiveness.
  • Perform additional responsibilities as assigned to support departmental, college, and institutional needs.
Qualifications Education
  • Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO) or Doctor of Medicine (MD) from an accredited institution.
  • Completion of an accredited residency training program.
  • Board certification in a relevant medical specialty.
Experience
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively in an academic medical environment.
  • Minimum of two (2) years of experience in undergraduate or graduate medical education.
  • Experience in curriculum development, implementation, and evaluation.
  • Experience with learner assessment, remediation strategies, and board examination preparation (COMLEX‑USA Level 2, USMLE Step 2).
  • Familiarity with accreditation standards and reporting processes (COCA).

Pay Range

Minimum: $ annually;
Maximum: $ annually.

Work Schedule

40 hours per week. Usual business hours Monday‑Friday 8 AM‑5 PM. Some evenings and weekends may be required.

Physical Demands & Work Environment

Essential functions may require lifting up to 25 lb, use of PC, walking and standing. Work environment typical office, low to moderate noise.
