Instructional Faculty – Temporary/Lecturer (1)
Location: Pomona, Southern California.
Type: Part‑time, on site.
PositionThe temporary faculty pool is continuously open and positions are filled as needed, based on student enrollment and funding. Candidates may need to begin teaching on short notice. The Fall term begins in late August and ends in mid‑December; the Spring term begins mid‑January and ends mid‑May. Summer Session teaching may also be available.
Apply for instructors who can teach the following subjects:
- Survey courses in World Art History (Prehistoric through Medieval; Renaissance through Modern)
- Contemporary Art
- Modern Art
- Medieval Art
- Asian Art History (including Japanese Art and Art and Architecture of India)
- Latin American Art
- African Art
- Other topics in global visual culture and art criticism
- Teach assigned division courses in the department’s curriculum.
- Serve weekly office hours according to the assigned teaching unit load.
- Assignments may include day, evening, and/or weekend courses.
- Master’s degree in Art History or a related discipline relevant to the curriculum.
- Demonstrated ability to teach undergraduate‑level Art History courses effectively.
- Ph.D. in Art History or a related discipline.
- Prior teaching experience at the college or university level and evidence of strong teaching.
- Professional experience in museum studies, curatorial practice, or archival research.
Initial appointments are for one semester only. Base salaries range from $1,040 to $6,221 per month, prorated to units worked and paid in six monthly payments per semester. Benefits include medical, dental, vision, retirement, and tuition assistance.
