Temporary faculty pool in the Department of Political Science. Dedicated to teaching part‑time courses during Fall, Spring, and Summer sessions. Candidates may need to begin teaching on short notice. All appointments are for one semester, with potential for renewal based on enrollment and funding.
Responsibilities- Teach assigned division courses in the department’s curriculum.
- Provide weekly office hours per the assigned teaching unit load.
- Prepare and deliver course materials, assessments, and instructional activities.
- Master’s degree in Political Science or a related discipline directly relevant to the curriculum.
- Ph.D. in Political Science or related field.
- Prior teaching experience at the college or university level with evidence of strong teaching.
- ABD status in Political Science or subfield required by date of application for political science courses.
- ABD in Ethnic Studies or related field for race and ethnicity courses.
- J.D. and appropriate experience for public law courses.
- ABD in a doctoral program with a public administration emphasis or MPA (by date of application) and/or experience in government or nonprofit for public administration courses.
Initial appointments are for one semester. Salary is prorated to the number of units taught and paid in bi‑monthly installments. Current semester‑based salary ranges:
Lecturer A: $5,507–$6,677;
Lecturer B: $6,221–$13,224;
Lecturer C: $6,825–$14,523;
Lecturer D: $8,593–$15,211. Benefits include medical, dental, vision, retirement, and tuition assistance per CSU policy.
