Part‑time Lecturer – Visual Communication Design (Instructional Faculty – Temporary/Lecturer). Available on a semester‑by‑semester basis, beginning in late August for the Fall term and mid‑January for the Spring term. Candidates may be required to begin teaching on short notice. Eligible courses include Visual Communication Design foundations, Typography, Branding and Identity Design, Graphic Design, Illustration, Web and Interaction Design, Motion Graphics, Packaging Design, Design Thinking, and Fine Arts.
Responsibilities- Teach assigned division courses and provide weekly office hours as required by the assigned teaching unit load. Course assignments may include day, evening, and/or weekend sessions.
- Master’s degree in Visual Communication Design, Graphic Design, or a related discipline.
- Proficiency with industry‑standard design software such as Adobe Creative Suite.
- MFA in Visual Communication Design, Graphic Design, or a related field.
- Prior college or university‑level teaching experience with evidence of strong teaching skills.
- Professional design, advertising, or related creative practice experience.
Initial rank and salary are based on professional experience and educational background. Appointments are for one semester only. Base salary is prorated to the number of units worked and paid in six monthly payments per full semester. Typical salary range: $0–$6,221 per month, not to exceed the upper limit for Lecturer A or B ranks. Comprehensive benefits include medical, dental, vision, retirement, and tuition assistance.
