The Department of Mathematics and Statistics at California State Polytechnic University, Pomona invites applications for Part‑Time Lecturer positions in the department of Mathematics and Statistics. The temporary faculty pool is continuously open, and positions are filled as needed based on student enrollment and funding. Candidates may need to begin teaching on short notice. Fall term begins in late August and ends in mid‑December;
Spring term begins mid‑January and ends in mid‑May. Opportunities for teaching during the Summer Sessions may also be available.

• Teach assigned division courses in the department’s curriculum.
• Serve weekly office hours based on the assigned teaching unit load.
• Assignments may include day, evening, and/or weekend courses.

• Master’s or doctoral degree in mathematics, statistics or a closely related field, completed by August 1, 2025.
• Evidence demonstrating recent teaching excellence.
• Preference for applicants professionally engaged in mathematical, statistical, or math/stat educational activities and able to demonstrate the capability to increase student interest and achievement in mathematics and statistics.

Initial rank and salary for lecturer faculty are based on professional experience and educational background. Initial appointments are for one semester only. The salary ranges for the respective ranks are:
Lecturer A: $5,507 – $6,677
Lecturer B: $6,221 – $13,224
Lecturer C: $6,825 – $14,523
Lecturer D: $8,593 – $15,211

Most new appointees are hired at the Lecturer A or B rank and placed at the beginning of the range. The CSU system offers a competitive total compensation benefit package for employees and qualifying dependents, including medical, dental, vision, retirement, and tuition assistance.
