The Department of Plant Science is seeking a part‑time Lecturer for teaching positions within its temporary faculty pool. Candidates may need to be available to begin teaching on short notice. Teaching assignments will be for Fall, Spring, and potentially Summer Sessions, depending on student enrollment and funding.

Teach assigned courses in the department’s curriculum and serve weekly office hours based on the assigned teaching unit load. Assignments may include day, evening, and/or weekend courses.
Required Qualifications- A master’s degree in Agriculture, Plant Physiology, Plant Pathology, Crop Science, Agroecology, Forestry, Controlled Environment Agriculture, Entomology, Horticulture, or a related discipline.
- Relevant professional work experience in agriculture, plant science, horticulture, environmental science, or a closely related field may be considered in lieu of a master’s degree.
- A PhD in Agriculture, Plant Physiology, Plant Pathology, Crop Science, Agroecology, Forestry, Controlled Environment Agriculture, Entomology, or Horticulture.
- Prior teaching experience at the college or university level and the ability to furnish evidence of strong teaching.
Initial rank and salary are based on professional experience and educational background. Initial appointments are for one semester only. The monthly base salary ranges by lecturer rank (A–D) and are prorated to the number of units worked. The annual classification salary ranges (as of July 2024) are:
Lecturer A: $5,507–$6,677;
Lecturer B: $6,221–$13,224;
Lecturer C: $6,825–$14,523;
Lecturer D: $8,593–$15,211.
