The Department of Geography and Anthropology at Cal Poly Pomona invites applications for its temporary lecturer pool. Positions are filled as needed and may require beginning teaching on short notice. The Fall term runs late August to mid‑December, the Spring term mid‑January to mid‑May, with possible summer teaching opportunities.
Subject Areas- Comparative Primatology, Human Osteology and Skeletal Biology, Bioarchaeology
- Advanced‑level Geographic Information System (GIS)
- Teach assigned courses in the department’s curriculum.
- Provide weekly office hours based on assigned teaching unit load.
- Adjust to other duties as required by the department.
- Master’s degree in Geography, Anthropology, or a related discipline from an accredited university.
- Field and/or professional experience in the relevant field.
- Ph.D. in Geography or Anthropology or a related discipline.
- Prior teaching experience at the college or university level and evidence of strong teaching effectiveness.
Initial appointments are one semester. Salary is prorated to the number of units taught and paid in six monthly payments.
- Lecturer A: $5,507 – $6,677 per month
- Lecturer B: $6,221 – $13,224 per month
- Lecturer C: $6,825 – $14,523 per month
- Lecturer D: $8,593 – $15,211 per month
Benefits include medical, dental, vision, retirement, and tuition assistance for employees and qualifying dependents, as part of the CSU system’s total compensation package.
