Job Summary

Under the general direction of the Assistant Dean of Student Learning, to promote shared academic success among class peers participating in study groups.

• Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Language ability to compose clear and concise reports.
• The ability to effectively, professionally and tactfully interact and communicate with students, faculty, administrators and staff members as necessary.
• The ability to manage projects and assignments in an efficient and effective manner
• Knowledge of Microsoft Office software such as Word, Excel, and Power Point
• The ability to effectively gather information from a variety of sources, compile and analyze information
• Ability to maintain confidentiality and professionalism at all times
• Good organizational skills
• Ability to demonstrate a commitment to working in an organization that values and promotes humanism

Required Qualifications

• Student enrolled in the College of Optometry in good academic standing
• Student must meet Federal Work Study (FWS) qualifications, which are:
  • Must have a completed current FAFSA.
  • Must have remaining financial aid unmet need.
  • Must be in good academic standing at Western University of Health Sciences.

Preferred Qualifications

• Volunteerism and strong study skills preferred.

• Schedule peer study group sessions. Book study rooms/locations.
• Ensure the study group members’ rotation of roles.
• Disseminate any notes or resources created within study groups to all members.
• Assists with other program projects as assigned.
• The University/College has the right to add/change duties at any time.
