Finance, Real Estate, and Law, Assistant Professor
California State Polytechnic University, Pomona invites applications for a tenure track faculty position in the Department of Finance, Real Estate, and Law (FRL). Cal Poly Pomona is one of three polytechnic universities in the 22-campus California State University system and among 12 such institutions nationwide. Since its founding in 1938, Cal Poly Pomona students participate in an integrative experiential learning education that is inclusive, relevant, and values diverse perspectives and experiences.

The new faculty member will teach undergraduate and graduate courses in real estate and finance. The successful candidate must also have a strong commitment to research and scholarly activities, and service to the Department, College, University and Community. Applicants whose work incorporates a global perspective and a commitment to diversity in higher education are particularly encouraged to apply.
Minimum requirements include:
- Candidates must have a Ph.D. degree in Real Estate, Finance, or a related field at the time of appointment
- Demonstrated ability to work effectively with students, staff and faculty from diverse ethnic, cultural, and socioeconomic backgrounds
- Demonstrated potential for teaching excellence
- Demonstrated potential to publish in peer-reviewed journals
- Demonstrated potential to contribute to the excellence of the academic community through research, teaching and/or service
Preferred/Desired
Qualifications:
- Evidence of developing and/or advising student-focused experiential learning activities
- Expertise in real estate
- Expertise in finance
- Previous peer-reviewed journal publications in Real Estate and Finance
- Teaching experience at university level

- Cover letter in which you describe your interest in the position, relevant experience, and how you meet the minimum and preferred qualifications;
- Curriculum vitae;
- Teaching Philosophy statement (2 page max) that addresses Cal Poly Pomona's commitment to excellence in education (see above);
- Three letters of recommendation;
- Evidence of past teaching experience, such as student evaluations and sample teaching portfolios, if available;
- Job market paper or representative unpublished research paper;
- Research statement that describes the applicant's research agenda, publications, works in progress, and future research plans; and
- Unofficial transcript showing highest degree earned or degree in progress.
Finalists for the position will:
- be required to provide official transcripts for highest degree before the on-campus interview; and
- be expected to make scholarly and teaching presentations.
