Job Description

Summary:

* IMPORTANT NOTE:

APPLICANTS MUST be currently enrolled at ULV and have a FEDERAL WORK STUDY award to be eligible for this position. The Career and Technical Education Center (CTEC) Assistant will support the College and Career Services Counselor and CTEC staff with general office duties, program coordination, and student engagement. This position plays a key role in ensuring the smooth operation of CTEC's pathways and services, contributing to the success of the program and its students.

The starting pay for this position is $18.00 per hour.

Specific Duties:

  • Perform general office tasks such as filing, data entry, photocopying, and organizing materials.
  • Maintain records of student attendance, workshop participation, and event sign-ups.
  • Assist in preparing and distributing materials for workshops and events.
  • Set up and organize classrooms or meeting spaces, including event materials like name tags and sign-in sheets.
  • Support event logistics, including managing registration and guiding participants.
  • Help coordinate student events, including workshops, mock interviews, and orientation sessions.
  • Provide administrative support during presentations and workshops.
  • Work collaboratively with staff to complete tasks and projects on time.
  • Follow safety and confidentiality guidelines to ensure a professional environment.
  • Research and compile information on grants, scholarships, internships, job opportunities, apprenticeships, and other career, educational, and funding opportunities to support students and programs.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications:

Must be a current University of La Verne student with Federal Work Study eligibility for the  academic year. Strong organizational and time-management skills.
