This role would serve within the Division of Student Affairs, which supports leadership and administrative support to over twenty-five(25) units with over 300 career positions, and an additional 700students and 50 limited staff while serving an increasingly diverse student population of approximately 30,000 students srole will work with the Director of Student Conduct & Integrityto address and adjudicate alleged violations of the Student Conduct Code and will lead all education and outreach initiatives from the Office of Student Conduct & Integrity.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:Student Conduct Adjudication & Case Management
- Adjudicates alleged violations of the Student Conduct Code in accordance with CSU and CPP policies and procedures with minimal supervision using an educational and transformativephilosophy.
- Independently manages caseload of alleged violations from inception through completion, ensuring compliance with timelines,due process, and policies.
- Investigates alleged violations by students and/or student organizations, including taking the lead on investigations, as appropriate.
- Assigns, assesses, and monitors sanctions within delegatedauthority. Suspension and expulsion sanctions are not independentlyassigned by this position and require coordination with andco-signature by the Director.
- Drafts, reviews, and sends relevant correspondence for assignedcases.
- Maintains highly confidential student conduct files and procedures, including case notes following current state and federal guidelines, using Maxient (student conduct database).
- Ensures student conduct records are properly maintained and organized following CSU policy.
- Responsible for explaining student conduct procedures to students, staff, faculty, and parents/guardians, as appropriate.
- Reviews reports of conflict-based harms, includinginterpersonal and inter-group dynamics, student conduct matters,and academic integrity.
- Meets with parties, primarily students and student organizations, that experience and cause harm to review conflictmanagement options for a particular case and advise parties onthose options.
- Makes appropriate referrals to campus resources/partners basedon the outcome of student meetings and investigations.
- Participates in the assessment and evaluation of the overall business operations of Student Conduct & Integrity as well asthe student conduct process.
- Gathers information to address crisis situations and helps withresponse and coordination as appropriate.
- Develops and assists with conflict resolution, mediation,restorative justice, and the de-escalation of disputes.
- Develops and maintains positive working relationships with faculty, staff, and administration at the university in order tobetter serve students.
- Creates, develops, and implements presentations, workshops,trainings, and sanctions to support the prevention and outreach efforts of Student Conduct and Integrity.
- Facilitates programs that train, raise awareness, and provideother services for the campus community regarding conflictmanagement/resolution, community expectations, mediation,restorative/transformative justice, de-escalation of disputes, andrepair harm.
- Partners with key campus partners related to conflict-basedharms, including, but not limited to, faculty, staff, students,Athletics, Bronco Leadership Center, University Housing, University Village, The Current, Office of Equity and Compliance, University Police Department, etc.
- Collaborates on the development and delivery of Hearing Officertraining.
