Pomona is one of three polytechnic universities in the 22-campus

Cal Poly Pomona's College of Letters, Arts, and Social Sciences(CLASS) brings to life a vibrant hands-on experience throughdisciplines in the humanities, performing arts, and social sciences. The Communication Department serves approximately 400 majors, with specialized options in Communications Studies, Multimedia Journalism, and Public Relations - in addition to minor programs ineach of those three areas, and an interdisciplinary Spanish Mediaminor. The Department's programs prepare students for careers in communication across the private sector, nonprofits, higher education, and newsrooms. Additionally, the Department oversees thebasic course direction for the university's public speakingcourses.
The Communication Department also houses student-run media(The Poly Post newspaper and Poly Pulse magazine) and campuschapters for the Public Relations Student Society of America(PRSSA) and the Society of Professional Journalists (SPJ).
