Pomona is one of three polytechnic universities in the 22-campus

The university is noted for its scenic and historic 1,400-acre campus, which was once the winter ranch of cereal magnate W.K.Kellogg.

We acknowledge that Cal Poly Pomona resides on the territorial and homelands of the Tongva and Tataavium people whoare the traditional land caretakers of Tovaangar. The university'snearly 30,000 students are taught and mentored by the campus's morethan 1,400 faculty as part of 54 baccalaureate and 29 master'sdegree programs, 11 credential and certificate programs, and adoctorate in educational leadership.

The Early Childhood Studies (ECS) program is distinctive because the major emphasizes the first eight years of life and thesignificance of this period in children's overall development.

While at Cal Poly Pomona, Early Childhood Studies students learnprocesses important for early childhood development and identify implications of theory in the examination and application of principles and practices within diverse family, program, and community contexts. The curriculum in Early Childhood Studies (ECS) offers 3 teaching options that advocate for understanding diversity and inclusivity from a multilingual lens. The faculty use service learning, practicum (student teaching), face-to-face, hybrid, andonline pedagogy in order to provide the knowledge, skills, anddispositions to work with children and families during the most critical developmental time in a child's life.

We include areas ofmultilingual teaching, special education, literacy and mathinstruction as well as social justice, advocacy, equity andpolicy.
