Position OverviewCalifornia State Polytechnic University, Pomona seeks a tenure‑track Assistant Professor for the Industrial and Manufacturing Engineering department, beginning in Fall 2027.
Responsibilities- Teach a broad range of industrial engineering courses, including Human Factors Engineering, Operations Research, Facility Planning, Lean Manufacturing, and related subjects.
- Develop new courses in human systems integration (Virtual, Augmented, and Mixed Reality).
- Establish a strong, externally funded research program in your area(s) of expertise.
- A Ph.D. in Industrial Engineering, Systems Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or a closely related field from an accredited university by the start date.
- Demonstrated commitment to inclusive excellence and student success.
- Strong oral and written communication skills.
- Academic expertise in Human‑System Integration (including Virtual, Augmented, and Mixed Reality), Human Factors and Ergonomics, Intelligent Systems, and Decision Sciences.
- Industry experience in Human‑System Integration areas that enhances teaching and research.
- Experience in university teaching, mentoring and supervising students, and/or improving industrial and manufacturing engineering curricula.
- Publication record and ability to secure external funding.
- Strong communication skills.
