- Performs inspections and evaluations of existing conditions for various electrical equipment and systems for proper installation, problem identification/trouble shooting, and overall improvements.
- Ensures system event assessments and RCA are performed for equipment failures and implements corrective actions, confirming proper mitigation plans are in place.
- Prepares thorough and accurate technical reports, correspondence, documentation, calculations, and design plans related to projects and analysis of increasing scope and complexity.
- Conducts independent engineering work, receiving guidance on the evaluation, selection, application and adaptation of engineering techniques, procedures, and criteria.
- Performs power system modeling and analyses utilizing software tools and applications; stays informed of technology advancements, market trends, and relevant guidelines and standards related to energy technology.
- Ensures the performance of day‑to‑day preventive maintenance activities to maintain equipment and ensure continued operation according to required standards including Health, Safety and Environment (HSE) and Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP) quality and environmental and reliability standards.
- Helps ensure infrastructure’s supporting processes are validated/qualified throughout their life cycle.
- Develops the engineering facility design, including but not limited to electrical system design, such as sizing, creating one‑line diagrams, and selecting equipment.
- Assists in the development of new technology and standards strategy and the implementation of strategies into business operations to improve power system functionality and quality of service to customers.
- Acts as project sponsors with some technical assistance when responding to technical questions requiring project modification to move projects through their lifecycle.
- A material job duty of all positions within the Company is ensuring the protection of all its physical, financial and cybersecurity assets, and properly accessing and managing private customer data, proprietary information, confidential medical records, and other types of highly sensitive information and data with the highest standards of conduct and integrity.
- Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or Bachelor's Degree in a scientific/technical/math field.
- Two or more years of experience performing engineering work in operations, production, construction or maintenance environments.
- Possess a valid Class C Driver's License.
- Experience in supporting engineering design and integration of microgrid controller systems (MCS) with Grid Management Systems such as Advanced Distribution Management System (ADMS) and Distributed Energy Resource Management System (DERMS) platforms.
- Experience with developing control system logic using energy storage, solar and generators including operations and maintenance displays, optimization and fail safety.
- Strong understanding of DERMS and DER communications/protocols (2030.5, DNP3, Modbus, etc).
- Strong understanding and technical capability to deliver advanced technology demonstration projects from concept to field deployment.
- Familiarity with IEEE 2030.5 CSIP, SCE Rule 21, UL3141 and inverter‑based resource management.
