Controls Engineer

Akkodis is seeking a Controls Engineer for a Contract with a client in Pomona, CA. The ideal candidate will develop and implement PLC and HMI solutions for industrial automation projects within a manufacturing environment.

Rate Range: $48/hour to $50/hour;
The rate may be negotiable based on experience, education, geographic location, and other factors.

Controls Engineer Job Responsibilities include:

• Develop and program PLC and HMI solutions for industrial automation projects within a manufacturing facility.
• Configure and implement Ignition HMI platforms to support robotic material handling systems.
• Perform onsite commissioning, testing, and troubleshooting of PLC, HMI, and automation systems.
• Collaborate with R&D, engineering, and operations teams to deliver projects from design through completion.
• Support vision system integration (Cognex In-Sight / Vision Pro) as required by project scope.
• Manage and track project tasks, timelines, and documentation to ensure successful delivery.

Required Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering, Controls Engineering, Automation, or a related technical field.
• 1-2 years of hands-on experience in controls engineering or industrial automation.
• Practical experience with Allen-Bradley PLCs/HMIs and Ignition HMI development in a manufacturing environment.
• Exposure to robotics or vision systems (Cognex In-Sight / Vision Pro) with ability to support onsite PLC/HMI programming and commissioning.

Pay Details: $48.00 to $50.00 per hour
