Job Summary

Under the general direction of the Associate Dean of Pre-Clinical Affairs, the Learning Systems Specialist provides support for the technical health and daily operations of learning platforms. This role ensures a seamless digital experience for students across multiple systems and serves as the support contact for all college faculty and administrative staff.

This position works closely with the college’s Outcomes Assessment team to ensure alignment between Pre-Clinical and Clinical curriculum outcomes and with the Assistant Dean of Clinical Education to meet clinical curriculum requirements.

    Understanding of educational technology standards.
  • Skills:

    Ability to translate technical issues for non-technical faculty and staff.
  • Self-managed workflow with the ability to prioritize tasks across multiple platforms.
  • Flexibility in job assignments to meet departmental priorities and emerging initiatives.
  • Organizational skills to prioritize workload and meet deadlines.
  • Excellent oral and written communications skills.
  • Ability to guide and support users effectively with leadership and problem-solving abilities.
  • Abilities:
    Detail-oriented with accuracy and consistency; ability to work collaboratively with diverse units; ability to interact effectively with administration, faculty, staff, and students; ability to maintain confidentiality; ability to use multiple computer programs as needed; ability to utilize distance communication technologies (video/web conferencing); commitment to humanism.
Qualifications

Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Instructional Design, or Educational Technology.

Experience: Minimum of 2-3 years related experience with Learning Management Systems (e.g., eMedley, Elentra, Canvas, Blackboard, or Brightspace).

Preferred Qualifications: Certifications in specific platforms (e.g., Canvas Certified Admin, Google Educator, or CompTIA Project+).

Key Responsibilities
  • Learning Management Support:
    Provide support for implementation of courses/rotations, student portfolios, configuring module settings, user accounts, and system upgrades; create and maintain user accounts and access levels; respond to requests regarding systems access and training; monitor support tickets and provide timely follow-up and resolution.
  • Data Management & Reporting:
    Optimize system configurations; enter and maintain system data and records; compile data for accreditation, assessment, and operational reporting; present data for decision-making; work with instructional designers, faculty, and staff to support content and technology integration and compliance.
  • Administrative Support:
    Maintain records and documentation related to LMS; assist with training sessions and workshops; coordinate testing updates with vendors and campus partners; serve as a primary contact for LMS inquiries.
