Position Overview:
We’re seeking experienced Labor & Delivery Registered Nurses to join a dynamic and high-volume maternity unit in Pomona, CA. The ideal candidate will have strong clinical skills in labor management, fetal monitoring, and newborn care. This is an excellent opportunity to work in one of California’s leading delivery facilities, handling diverse and high-acuity cases in a collaborative, multidisciplinary environment.
Key Responsibilities:
Provide direct patient care to mothers and infants during labor, delivery, and recovery.
Perform and interpret sterile vaginal exams , including assessment of dilation, effacement, and station.
Assist with high-risk deliveries and manage patients with complications such as preeclampsia, diabetes, and premature labor.
Monitor fetal heart tones using EFM (External Fetal Monitoring) and IUPC (Intrauterine Pressure Catheters) .
Support neonatal resuscitation , APGAR scoring, and initial newborn care.
Administer medications, including magnesium sulfate and insulin drips , as ordered.
Provide patient education and postpartum support to new mothers and families.
Collaborate with physicians, midwives, and other healthcare professionals to ensure safe, high-quality care.
Requirements
Requirements:
Active RN license (California)
Minimum 2 years of recent Labor & Delivery experience in a comparable acute care setting (will consider strong candidates with 1 year)
Certifications:
BLS (Basic Life Support)
NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program) – Advanced, all 11 components required
AWHONN Advanced Fetal Monitoring (Advanced Fetal Monitoring certification)
ACLS (preferred)
Proficient in fetal monitoring, vaginal exams, and newborn care
Strong critical thinking and communication skills
