About the role
As a Medical Support Specialist (Plasma Center Nurse), you will support plasma center operations under the guidance of the Center Manager and the Center Physician. Responsibilities include determining donor eligibility, managing donor adverse events, reviewing laboratory test results, and notifying donors of unsuitable test results. You will also provide center‑level support for environmental, health and safety (EHS) and follow regulatory requirements for plasma collection.
HowYou Will Contribute
- Determine donor eligibility, including informed consent, AIDS education, self‑exclusion, medical history interview, physical examination, blood testing, and review of serological protein electrophoresis (SPE).
- Evaluate donor reactions and follow SOPs for medical emergencies, including Standing Orders and transport to emergency care facilities.
- Refer to the Center Physician or Medical Affairs for medical or technical issues and donor safety and eligibility.
- Support Hepatitis B and seasonal flu vaccination programs for employees.
- Manage employee incidents and determine further evaluation by occupational health/ER, following EHS guidance.
- Act as a Pandemic Coordinator when authorized by EHS and support investigations of pandemic threats within the local community.
- High school diploma or equivalent, or a recognized nursing program with state requirements.
- Current state license as Registered Nurse (RN), Nurse Practitioner (NP), or Physician Assistant (PA).
- Current CPR and AED certification.
- Fulfillment of state requirements for basic IV therapy.
- Completion of FDA‑approved training for Bio Life Medical Support Specialist.
- Two years of experience in a clinical or hospital setting.

Hourly Wage Range: $40.48 – $55.66 (annual salary added by managerial discretion)
