* ** What this job involves:
** As a Building Engineer at JLL, you will help ensure the safe, efficient, and reliable operation of critical building systems across the facility. This role is responsible for operating, maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing a variety of systems including HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and fire life safety equipment. The ideal candidate brings strong technical expertise in at least one core trade area while demonstrating the flexibility to support multiple building systems.

You will play an important role in delivering exceptional client service, maintaining compliance with safety standards, supporting energy-efficient operations, and contributing to an overall positive occupant experience.  
** What your day-to-day will look like:*
* * Operate, maintain, troubleshoot, and repair building systems including HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and fire life safety equipment.
* Complete preventive maintenance tasks and respond to service requests in a professional and timely manner with minimal disruption to building occupants.
* Monitor building systems performance, record operational readings, and make necessary adjustments to maintain optimal equipment efficiency.
* Maintain accurate CMMS records for maintenance activities, equipment updates, and system performance.
* Inspect and maintain mechanical, structural, plumbing, control, and safety systems to ensure compliance with operational and regulatory standards.
* Support inventory management by tracking parts, tools, and equipment and submitting replacement requests as needed.
* Assist facility leadership during emergency situations including fire alarms, hazardous conditions, and system failures while following established safety procedures.

* Required Qualifications:

*
* * High school diploma or state equivalent required.
* Minimum of two years of college coursework or related trade school training.
* Minimum of four years of experience in either the electrical trade, HVAC/refrigeration trade, or a related technical field.
* Universal CFC certification required.
* Valid U.S. driver’s license with a clean driving record.
* Strong working knowledge of HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and building automation systems.
* Ability to safely perform physical job duties including lifting up to 80 lbs., climbing ladders, navigating rooftops, and working in physically demanding environments.

* Preferred Qualifications:

* * Experience working in commercial real estate, industrial, healthcare, or campus environments.
* Multi-skilled technical background across several building trades.
* Familiarity with CMMS platforms and preventive maintenance programs.
* Knowledge of energy management and sustainability best practices within building operations.
* Working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, and other basic computer applications.
* Experience responding to emergency building situations and supporting critical operations.
* Strong communication and customer service skills with the ability to interact professionally with clients and team members.
