Materials Handler III Job Summary
The Materials Handler III is responsible for supporting warehouse and inventory operations through the accurate movement, storage, receipt, and distribution of materials. Working under general supervision, this role performs a variety of material handling functions including receiving, put‑away, picking, cycle counting, inventory transactions, stock transfers, and shipping support. The ideal candidate possesses warehouse and inventory management experience, strong organizational skills, and the ability to work efficiently in a regulated manufacturing or distribution environment.
This position plays a key role in maintaining inventory accuracy, supporting material flow, and ensuring timely fulfillment of operational requirements.
- Perform material handling activities including receiving, put‑away, stock transfers, picking, staging, and shipping support.
- Load and unload trailers and delivery vehicles while following established safety procedures.
- Process material movements accurately within inventory management and ERP systems.
- Pick materials and orders for production and customer shipments.
- Support inventory control activities including cycle counts, inventory audits, and discrepancy investigations.
- Process material requests and ensure timely movement of materials throughout the facility.
- Operate forklifts, pallet jacks, stretch wrappers, and other material handling equipment when authorized and trained.
- Assist with de‑crating, packaging, staging, and shipment preparation activities.
- Support movement of materials between facilities or work areas when required.
- Utilize ERP systems to process inventory transactions and maintain accurate inventory records.
- Investigate inventory discrepancies and support root cause analysis activities.
- Participate in continuous improvement initiatives focused on warehouse operations, inventory control, and material flow processes.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.
- Assist with training and onboarding of warehouse personnel as assigned.
- Collaborate with warehouse, manufacturing, quality, and logistics teams to support operational objectives.
- Follow all company policies, safety procedures, quality standards, and regulatory requirements.
- High school diploma or GED required.
- Minimum of 2 years of warehouse, inventory control, material handling, logistics, or related experience preferred.
- Experience performing receiving, shipping, inventory management, stock transfers, and material movement activities preferred.
- Experience using ERP systems for inventory transactions and material management preferred.
- Forklift certification preferred.
- Ability to safely operate forklifts, pallet jacks, and other material handling equipment.
- Knowledge of inventory control principles, cycle counting, and warehouse best practices.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Strong organizational, time management, and multitasking abilities.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and collaboratively within a team environment.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to inventory accuracy.
- Ability to analyze and resolve inventory discrepancies.
- Ability to work effectively under pressure while maintaining professionalism.
- Ability to frequently stand, walk, bend, stoop, kneel, crouch, reach, and perform physical warehouse activities.
- Ability to lift and move up to 50 pounds as required.
- High school diploma or GED required.
- Minimum of 2 years of warehouse, material handling, inventory control, shipping, receiving, or logistics experience preferred.
- Experience operating forklifts and material handling equipment preferred.
- Experience using ERP systems for inventory and warehouse transactions preferred.
- Experience performing cycle counts, inventory reconciliation, and stock management activities preferred.
- Experience working in manufacturing, regulated, distribution, or warehouse environments preferred.
- Experience supporting continuous improvement initiatives and process optimization efforts preferred.
