Job Description
The Senior Accountant is responsible for maintaining accurate financial records, preparing timely financial reports, and ensuring compliance with GAAP and internal accounting standards. This role plays a critical part in safeguarding the organization’s financial integrity and supporting leadership with clear, reliable financial information. The position requires working closely with leadership and cross‑functional teams in a fully in-office environment.
- Prepare, review, and maintain the general ledger to ensure accurate and timely financial reporting.
- Perform monthly, quarterly, and annual general ledger account reconciliations.
- Assist in the preparation of financial statements, management reports, and supporting schedules.
- Ensure compliance with GAAP and applicable accounting regulations.
- Conduct cash flow analysis and provide insights and recommendations to improve financial performance.
- Collaborate with internal departments to gather, analyze, and validate financial data.
- Support budgeting and forecasting activities.
- Assist with the development, implementation, and maintenance of accounting policies and procedures.
- Perform technical accounting research to address complex transactions and ensure regulatory compliance.
- Assist with tax planning, filings, and compliance activities.
- Support internal and external audit processes, including preparation of audit documentation.
- Utilize accounting systems such as Business Central or Microsoft Dynamics to record, track, and analyze financial transactions.
- 5+ years of progressive accounting experience.
- Advanced Excel skills, including pivot tables and VLOOKUP.
- Familiarity with Microsoft ERP systems (Microsoft Dynamics, Business Central, Great Plains, etc.).
- Strong understanding of GAAP and general ledger accounting.
- Experience working closely with Senior leadership.
- Strong attention to detail and analytical skills.
Skills & Qualifications
- Degree in Accounting or Finance.
- CPA or progress toward CPA is a plus.
- Construction industry experience is preferred.
This is an onsite position in Pompano Beach, FL, with working hours from Monday to Friday, 8/9 AM to 5 PM.
