Inventory Accounting Specialist in Pompano Beach, FL
Salary: $65K-$90K
Schedule: Monday to Friday from 8 am to 5 pm (1 hr lunch)

Job DescriptionYou will be involved in all financial affairs of the company, particularly the operation of the company’s ERP system. This position combines accounting, inventory, and purchasing functions. The core responsibilities include managing the goods from procurement to financial reporting. Heavy inventory management experience is a plus!
Core Responsibilities- Purchasing/Procurement: Identify purchasing needs and source suppliers for materials, equipment, and services. Negotiate pricing, terms, and contracts with vendors to ensure cost-effectiveness and quality. Generate, process, and track purchase orders (POs), ensuring timely delivery and resolving any delays or discrepancies. Evaluate supplier performance and research new products or alternative vendors.
- Inventory Management: Monitor inventory levels and product movement to maintain optimal stock levels (minimizing shortages or excess/obsolete stock). Implement and manage inventory control systems and procedures. Coordinate and conduct physical inventory counts, cycle counts, and audits. Manage warehousing organization, receiving practices, and documentation of incoming and outgoing stock.
- Accounting/Financial Duties: Reconcile inventory records with the general ledger and financial statements to ensure accuracy. Analyze inventory costs, including variances and cost of goods sold (COGS). Assist in month-end and year-end closing processes related to inventory accounts. Verify and process vendor invoices and resolve billing issues. Prepare detailed reports and financial analysis for management review, providing insights into inventory trends and costs.
Knowledge: Thorough understanding of inventory control practices, procurement procedures, and basic accounting principles (like GAAP).
Technical
Skills:
Proficiency with inventory management and ERP systems, as well as Microsoft Office (especially Excel).
Soft Skills: Strong analytical skills, attention to detail, problem-solving abilities, and excellent communication skills for collaborating with various departments and external vendors.
Education/
Experience:
An associate's or bachelor's degree in a related field (finance, business administration, accounting) and relevant experience in warehousing, inventory, or purchasing are required.
