Youth Activities Department Associate
Congregation Kol Tikvah serves as the spiritual and social home to over 310 families in Northwest Broward County, Florida. We are a Reform, URJ affiliated synagogue with a rich 35+ year history. We serve as the hub for Egalitarian Jewish life in Parkland, Coral Springs, Margate, Coconut Creek and beyond. We pride ourselves on our commitment to our community and living our Jewish values.
We are seeking an energetic Youth Activities Program Associate. This is a part time position working approximately 15 hours per week on site and will work directly with our Director of Engagement and Youth Education. This position consists of two main roles:
Mensch University Support Staff:
Serve as the administrative support professional for our religious school, home to over 150 students in grades K-12. Coordinate supply purchases for teachers;
Coordinate and facilitate communications for the entire school, as well as within classrooms;
Other duties as assigned as it relates to supporting our school. Youth Group Coordinator:
Serve as the day-of point person for our youth group activities;
Work with our Director of Engagement and Youth Education to plan and coordinate our youth group activities. This professional will also support general synagogue administrative operations, including:
Attend synagogue events as requested and needed Greeting visitors and congregants, answering phones, etc.
KEY QUALIFICATIONS/COMPETENCIES Personality – the ideal candidate must be energetic, outgoing and have strong interpersonal and organizational skills. Project Management – the ideal candidate will be able to handle multiple responsibilities at once, prioritizing and triaging as appropriate. Technological Proficiency – the ideal candidate can easily navigate social platforms, technology, a CRM system, etc. Although not required, experience with shulcloud is a plus!
Program Development and Execution – the ideal candidate is comfortable designing and implementing programming Understanding of Jewish rituals, lifecycle events, etc. Teamwork – the ideal candidate works well with professionals, lay leaders and students. Leadership and being a role model for youth and teens. Prior experience working with children/teens, and/or experience within a youth group or Jewish camp setting.
COMPENSATION:
This is a part time position that will pay $25 per hour, with an average time commitment of 15 hours per week. Your time commitment is as follows:
Sunday – 8a-12p or 1p, Tuesday – 3pm-7pm The remaining hours will be arranged with your supervisor Complimentary congregational membership, including discounts for our after school program and high holiday tickets. Candidates will need to be able to pass a background check.
